"My work is dark, gross, strange, sometimes cute, but most of all: funny. This is because I like to create art that expresses the horrific comedy of our own reality by mirroring and exaggerating the absurdity of it. I do this by meshing gritty textural elements with rounded, cartoonish designs, expressive animation, and injecting it all with a bit of my own real world experiences. My goal is to put a magnifying glass to the world and give people the chance to laugh at just how weird it looks up close." - Artist Statement
Hi, I'm Ray. I'm a 2D animator and artist based in Rochester, NY. I have a BFA in 2D animation from Pratt Institute and graduated Class of 2021 with honors. Over the course of my career I've directed an animated PSA for Make The Road NY, animated a motion comic for Saving Jane Inc., opened an online store, painted some murals, raised $350 for the Brooklyn Community Bail Fund, and have created an abundance of content. I'm skilled with a range of software and mediums, but most frequently use the Adobe Suite for my projects. I'm versatile, hardworking, and I love working with others. I also make a pretty mean spaghetti & meatballs
